We had planned a bluwatergetaway for this weekend, but things didn’t work out as planned. So when you can’t be there, revisit a favorite from earlier this year! We enjoyed a fun trip to Tybee Island, GA earlier this year, and our sunset cruise with Captain Rene and Sundial Charters was AH-MAZ-ING! Lots of photos in this post, but I couldn’t help myself!
This photo is on the south end of the Tybee, looking across to Little Tybee where we cruised with Rene.
I’ve gone out with Sundial Charters on other visits. Their Little Tybee Unplugged is a fantastic trip! Captain Rene knows all about low country nature and waters ~ plus she has a great smile. 🙂
Love this view of the Tybee Lighthouse from the backside of the island ~~~
We were lucky and came on a dolphin pod ~ three adults and a baby! Rene put the boat in idle and we watched them swim and chase fish. I tried so hard to get a good photo ~ but as usual, came away only with tail flukes and dorsal fins. Oh well, it was a magical moment, even if the photo is less than magical!
We also visited this bald eagle nest, and the eagle posed for photos. Eagles pair of life and will use their nests for years. We saw this nest on our last visit and hope to see these eagles for many years to come.
This was a special sunset cruise, and yes, we toasted the sunset!
So many projects waiting to happen with this driftwood log. If I could just figure out how to get it home!
As we watched the sun sinking towards the horizon, Rene put us in on the island beach, to enjoy the view.
Bluwaterguy taking it all in ~~~
I wanted to sit here and freeze frame this moment!
Going, going, going ~ and we headed back to the drop off point.
One last shot over the shoulder. Breathe in, breathe out, move on ~~~
We were thrilled with our sunset cruise with Captain Rene and Sundial Charters on Tybee Island. If I can’t getaway this weekend, I can still enjoy the photos and toast the sunset! Cheers y’all ~~~
