We’ve turned the calendar page to March and the time change is coming up this weekend. Spring is just around the corner, so this is the last Warm-up Wednesday for the season!
The past few months have been a blur of short days and big events ~ Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, professional commitments, mom’s birthday, major reno projects at home, and {Murphy’s Law} two doses of miserable illness. Revisiting warm weather bluwatergetaways brought some sunshine to the winter days, and saved my sanity along the way! Now that the big commitments are finished, I’m working on some fun projects at home.
I’ll share my new bluwaterstyle projects on Wednesdays over the next weeks, as we turn the corner into spring. We’re headed into my favorite part of the year, and I’m soooooooo looking forward to some fun! Some new bluwaterstyle at home, more sunshine every day, and even a bluwatergetaway on the horizon!
My #oneword365 for 2015 is “present” ~ be present, enjoy the present, each day is a present ~ but I’m truly glad February is in the rear view mirror.
I thought to end the Warm-up Wednesday series with my Hammock Inspector post. I’ve always liked the Kierkegaard quote “Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.” There’s no better place than a hammock to enjoy the present, look backward for understanding, and look forward with anticipation. I’ve done some of my best thinking in a hammock. Taken some of my best naps there too!
So enjoy a virtual hammock afternoon, and take a moment to enjoy the present. You never know what’s down the road or around the next turn, but at least it will be warmer and sunnier ahead! 🙂
Have a happy week y’all ~~~

So many hammocks, so many possibilities ~~~
Hammocks are high on my list of all time favorite things. A place to settle in with a great read, enjoy a quiet conversation and laugh with someone special, or just a place to swing and sample the breeze.
Readers here and the bluwaterlife Facebook page know that I am a self-proclaimed Hammock Inspector. I have spent time in hammocks all over the southern states, FL Keys and the Caribbean ~ day and night ~ on land, water and boats ~ sunny and overcast ~ and it’s all good. 🙂
Hammocks are my preferred spot for any kind of recuperation. I nursed sunburns, pounding headaches, broken bones and broken hearts in the old rope hammock under the shade of the big pecan tree at my parents home. Bluwaterdad rigged a pull rope so you could keep the hammock swinging just right with only an occasional tug.
Because hammocks equate to rest and restore for me, they also are a big factor in vacations. Here are a few of my favorite hammocks from recent years.
I post photos of other hammock inspirations on the bluwaterlife Facebook page. Sometimes it’s just for the idea of rest and restore ~ or room to breathe ~ which we all need. I hope you enjoy them when you are taking a breather too. Add in a book, a nap, a glass of iced tea and cure what ails ‘ya. Sometimes a hammock is all you need to get right again with the world 🙂 .
Happy Sunday y’all ~~~

Bobbi – thanks so much for helping us “warm-up” and “get right with the world”. I am so sorry that you’ve been sidelined with illness – never fun! Hopefully there is a bluwatergetaway in your near future!

Thanks Vicki ~ hoping for enough sun today to get out for a walk. The next best thing when there’s no hammock nearby 🙂 Bwg ~~~

Hi CoCo ~ the Warm-Up series definitely saved my sanity the past couple of months and I am so glad you enjoyed it too! It will be back again during the cold months, but now that things are warming up there will be some new travel adventures to share. I’m also finally getting to some new projects that I’ve been itching to start. Coming to the blog soon! Thank you so much for your support sweet friend 🙂 Bwg ~~~

Bobbi, I love your word Present and so many of us need to be reminded of that especially with technology etc. I would love to relax in a hammock and be present. Such a great idea and on the water even better. Thanks for the beautiful pictures and great reminder to be present. xo Lisa
