Friday was a busy day. A front came in overnight and our spring weather took a dive. Overcast skies, chill wind, possible rain in the forecast and an over-full to-do list. By lunch time I had already been to Target, the paint studio, Lowe’s and the UPS store. Then driving home, the sun broke through ~ and the blooming cherry trees on our main community road had a moment ~~~
I’ve enjoyed this beautiful scenery for the past two weeks, and was concerned the wind and possible rain would bring it to an end. Thinking about my #oneword365 ~ present ~ as soon as I reached home, I ditched the to-do list, grabbed my camera and started walking.
This lunch time walk was truly a present ~ as in a gift! Bright sunshine, beautiful blue skies and green grass, and oh, those pink fluffy clouds of blooms. Even the downed petals were pretty ~ like pink confetti lining the sidewalks. 🙂
I walked, took photos, and took a few minutes on a bench to just breathe. That’s one of my goals for this year ~ to be present in the moment, and especially recognize the present when it is an unexpected gift.
We lost a dear family member on Thursday this week. My Aunt Barbara ~ Bluwaterdad’s sister ~ was a special spirit. Sharp, funny and independent. And she played a mean game of checkers ~ I don’t think I ever won a game against her! I thought about her while I walked. She definitely would appreciate the moment ~ so Aunt Barbara, this beautiful present moment is for you, with lots of love ~~~

Beautiful pictures of the trees. I stopped in front of Bluwatermom”s house and took pictures of her neighbor’s tree. He was from Ireland and lovely took care of this beautiful work of nature. Bluwatermom passed them along to his wife. It was like a message from Pat saying “Welcome spring”!

Hi Ann ~ glad you enjoyed the ATL cherry tree photos. I saw Pat’s tree at mom’s house yesterday and it was beautiful! Such a deep pink ~ different from the pale pink one’s here in my neighborhood. Pat was indeed a lovely person 🙂 Bwg ~~~

Thank you so much CoCo – I really appreciate your support 🙂 I think these trees will always remind me now of my aunt, so it’s like greeting her again each spring! Bwg ~~~
