Warm-up Wednesday is for real this week! After a rainy nasty Monday, it has been sunny and a taste of spring around here. 🙂 I’m clearing and packing for a major home repair project his week. Thinking I may need time on a beach, under an umbrella to recover ~ and that put me in mind for Seaside, FL ~~~
I’ve been a regular Seaside visitor since just after its founding, and it’s been a regular feature here on the blog over the years. Today I’m revisiting my post with all the Seaside beach pavilions, because these views will get me through this week of disruption and destruction. Oh, and did I mention I had a root canal on Monday. Yikes, what a week!
So there may be craziness at home for me, but I know this waits for me whenever I can get there. And that gets me through a lot of stuff. Oh Seaside, will you be my Valentine? Just don’t tell Bluwaterguy!
Have a great week y’all ~~~
Good intentions and too many project ideas are often my undoing.
So, I am always happy when I am able to see one of them to completion. I’ve shot lots of photos of the Seaside beach pavilions over the years, but somehow I never seem to have good shots of all of them. Here’s a link to the story behind the design of the pavilions.
On our trip this year, I made it a point on the walk about days to get lots of photos of ALL of them. Unsure of how or when I might use them, but knowing it was a project in the making. Thinking about it, I remembered a collage frame purchased on impulse that had nine photo windows. Perfect for the eight pavilions plus the Seaside sign!
With a rare day off that was not filled with appointments and to do’s, it was a great opportunity to give myself a vacation revisit. These are the images I decided to use. I had already selected and edited most of the pavilion shots, but I still had to make the final choices, get them printed and in the frame and hung ~ without breaking anything. I tend to drop things ~ a lot. 🙁
Maybe it was not pushing a work deadline, or an appointment deadline, or just good vacation karma ~ but I finished my project without any trouble today. The only challenge was deciding which photos to use. I put them all and some extras on the Facebook page if you want to see the extras. Hope you enjoy some good vacation karma too!
I hung the frame in the entry with a previous furniture refinishing project and my Zen beach jar. It’s another spot of happiness from my life enjoyed ~ that I can appreciate everyday when I am running out the door. A great reminder to “keep calm and pretend you’re at the beach”!
