Do you send Christmas cards or a Christmas letter? Do you know about the WATERLOGUE app for iPad, iPhone and iTouch? You can “paint” beautiful watercolor images from any digital photo in seconds and add a special touch to your cards and letters. 🙂
I confess, I am addicted to this app. I started using it when I got my new camera back in the summer. And I love what it does for any Christmas photo. I have played around with some photos and thought to share them here. It’s not to late to send beautiful cards or even just an email photo to friends and family.
Bluwatermom has been collecting Christmas water globes every year that she has been in her “new” house. Here are a couple of WATERLOGUE paintings from photos I shot right on her kitchen counter. Your photos don’t have to be anything special or have perfect lighting (yay!) to be pretty when rendered in watercolor.

we both love water globes 🙂
I’m going to make a collage with all the water globes rendered by WATERLOGUE. I’ll make the collage using PICMONKEY, my other go to app for things like turning images into special cards and collages. There are tons of tutorials on the web for both apps, and the apps also have good built-in help, so I will leave that to folks who are better at explaining those kind of things. Come back next week to see my collage creations!
Just to show some of the different looks from WATERLOGUE, here are three versions of my Advent calendar. These effects are called Natural, Illustration, and Color Bloom. These are my three favorites and the ones I use most often.

And the same three effects using one of my Christmas wreaths ~~~

And a wreath close up using the Illustration effect. I have to use this in a card! It literally took seconds to create this image. 🙂

And one more photo to share ~ this is the Christmas version of my front door. You may remember a very similar look from the series we did in the fall. I’m thinking I’d like to do a collage of my door from each of the four seasons. It’s the same look, but I change it a bit each season.

Merry Christmas y’all ~~~
There are so many possibilities with these apps. Even less than perfect photos turn into really pretty images that you will be proud to share and frame. And there’s still plenty of time to turn out something special. Now I’ve got to get busy on that collage project! Hope you will come back to see the results!

Hey Bobbi – we love this app too! I have created some very pretty cards and framed art as gifts. I know what you mean by “addicting” 🙂 I can get lost for hours once I get started! So much fun and your photos are beautiful!

Thanks 2 Bees! And Bluwaterguy just got me a spiffy new printer, yay! It’s an early Christmas gift as he knew I would be printing lots of things this week before the holiday. Now I just need to find some good frames on sale! Bwg ~~~
