The holiday parties are in full swing, and we’re all looking for easy take alongs! Today I’m sharing a few of my favorites from the past few years. Please forgive some of the old photos. The recipes are really good and my photography has improved over the years. 🙂
Anything that can be made ahead is always good this time of year. This Quadruple Chocolate Loaf Cake from Nigella Lawson gets better as it sits, so I make it a day or two before the party. It’s always a hit with chocolate lovers.
If your invited to an appetizer or wine party, this Cheddar and Cranberry Cheese Ball from Martha Stewart is super easy to prep and a twist on the traditional cheese ball. I actually prefer to do it as a log, and it makes two so you can always have one in your fridge this time of year. It goes well with my own Sweet and Spicy Pecans. These also make a good host gift in a small jar or tin.
These Red and White Velvet Cookies start with a cake mix. Mix up the dough and roll into logs to slice and bake, and then dip in white chocolate. Super easy to make and who doesn’t love Red Velvet cake, even in a cookie!
These Chewy Chocolate Gingerbread Cookies from Martha Stewart take a little more work, but they are soooooo good. Here’s my baking process and the story of why I love Christmas cookies, past and present.
These are my favorite baking boxes to share cookies with neighbors and friends. They hold a half-dozen of normal size cookies, and are sturdy enough to protect from breakage. I add my bluwaterlife seal to the end of the box too! There are so many beautiful boxes, trays and tins on Pinterest, but these have worked for me for years and I always have them on hand.
Of course these are a few sweet and savory treats. Sometimes you need something a little more substantial, or a casserole side for the company holiday potluck. I’ll share some of those next week, hope you come back for a visit. Now I have to go get ready for a party!
