Welcome to Tybee Island ~ out and about! Let’s go shopping, look at cute cottages and gorgeous homes, enjoy lunch or dinner ~ oh, and a cocktail ~ and then do it all again tomorrow! Who’s in? To quote Bluwatermom, my middle name is “go” ~~~
I snagged some great finds while shopping ~ especially at Seaside Sisters and at Gallery by the Sea. I could wander through both of these cool spots for days, in fact I think I did!
While at Seaside Sisters, I checked out the Mermaid Cottage gear that helps support their community projects. I picked up a Mermaid tee and some Morning Bliss coffee. Love these colors and it may be my new fave sleep shirt!
Visiting Tybee when the “coast is clear” means you can go to your favorite restaurants without a wait. There are many places in Tybee ~ old and new ~ and these are three of my favorites ~
I had an amazing meal at lunchtime at Sundae Cafe ~ my southern Grandmother’s would be proud! Parking can be tricky at Sundae Cafe, so I was happy to snag a front row spot. I visited Tybee Island Social Club twice – once for live music with friends and once for dinner. The menu changes often here, so you will always find something new ~ and I found great drinks both visits! My last night was dinner at Marlin Monroe’s ~ fresh shrimp and a fresh fruit daiquiri overlooking the dunes. Easy parking at Marlin Monroe’s in the condo garage ~ a helpful tip form some local friends.
Whether you’re walking, bike riding, or driving around the island, you’ll see charming homes. Many vintage cottages have been renovated or updated in recent years. These are just a few of the pictures I snapped ~
Of course color was always catching my eye ~ oh, and that Mermaid Cottage sign 🙂 ~
Yes, it’s Mary Kay Andrews‘s own Breeze Inn cottage ~
This was a new spot for me ~ the Tybee Island Wedding Chapel ~ and it’s a really beautiful property. They do special parties, corporate events and yes, weddings!
Near the southern end of the island, there are gorgeous homes along 17th Street ~ and they look especially beautiful in the afternoon sunshine. Now if I could just win that lottery drawing ~
Check out this yard sign! Let’s see ~ got the top three towns covered this summer, and Myrtle Beach many times over the years, I was born in Augusta and went to some golf tourney there once or twice 🙂 but where the heck is Reidsville?
Tybee is a small island, and you can do as much or as little as you choose. And if you need reminding, there’s always this too ~
Hope you’re enjoying my Tybee time bluwatergetaway series – the wonderful Mermaid Cottage, the Tybee Pier and beaches, the historic lighthouse ~ and more of the Tybee coastal vibe in a festive holiday series I’m doing with some of my blogging friends next week! Hmmmm ~ Tybee for Christmas or New Year’s? 🙂

Thank you so much for showing a part of Tybee that I’m not familiar with! I’m adding this to my “must see and do list” for this island.
