starting with some happy fall colors ~~~
Welcome to our fall blog tour week 1 ~ tablescapes!
It’s post Labor Day, the calendar says September and we’ve turned the corner into the fall season ~ but I’ve just spent the last 10 days enjoying tropical weather ~ so let’s just say I’m a little “seasonally confused” 🙂 .
While I’ve been on my Florida Keys road trip, I’ve also been enjoying some beautiful previews of fall from my blogging friends. I’m contributing to a September series with the group, which will continue all month long with a different theme each week. We all have very distinct styles, so you’ll see something different every day Monday through Saturday.
This week’s theme is “Fall Tablescapes”. Welcome if you’ve come over from The Crowned Goat ~ wasn’t Coco’s table simply elegant? She is also an island soul, so it’s nice to be following her this week!
I’m a spring and summer gal at heart, so my table is all about a low stress way to ease into the new season ~ it’s fall bluwaterstyle! This could also be called “the lazy way to transition the time between summer and holiday” ~~~
My grandmother’s drop leaf table is my dining table, and it will seat from 2 to 10 in different configurations. I remember lots of Sunday dinners at this table. I usually keep it in the small set up you see in these photos, but it will expand for big dinners and parties.
Every few months I change out the basic tabletop stuff for a new set up ~ some combination of tray, platter, pedestal and bowl. I used neutral materials for the fall set up ~ galvanized tin, glass bottles, wood bowl and crates ~ so I can leave it in place as long as I want, and update it when the mood strikes. The galvanized tray and pedestal are from my fave flash sale site Décor Steals. A few decorative changes, different colors or flowers, and I can go from late summer through fall, and use different dinnerware and table linens. Oh, and a new bluwaterdrink here and there doesn’t hurt either!
The first look was from August, while I was enjoying the last month of summer. Bright colors in the flowers, napkins and coasters ~ with neutral summer shells and decor in the wooden bowl. And an Island Breeze cocktail in my Mason Jar cocktail shaker and drink sippers. Summer ~ I love you don’t leave!

summer brights and neutral shells for August ~~~
The second look is my September version. Happy fall colors in flowers and napkins, with a change out from shells to a few of my globe collection in the wooden bowl. But I’m not ready to give up my summer cocktail just yet!

fall transition colors from my globe collection for September ~~~
The third look will take me through October. A full on fall look in my wooden bowl, and a new fall cocktail with my favorite punch glasses. Did you notice it’s the same tablecloth in each photo? I love this blue and white print cloth I scored a few weeks ago thrifting at Woodstock Market.

Here’s a view of the décor changes in the wooden bowl ~ it takes minutes to change up for different looks.

And here are the cocktails, ~ just because they make me happy!

it’s the Island Breeze!

it’s time for fall and spiced rum punch!
That’s my bluwaterstyle low stress way to ease through the fall season! I’ve loved seeing the styles from the other blogs this week ~ from beautiful tables to elegant tailgates. Jennifer of The Striped House will be back on Monday to start our week of fall recipes. I’ll be in the kitchen with a fall recipe for you too! It will be a bluwatereat that’s good from breakfast through dessert, so I hope you’ll stop by to visit, and enjoy the tour of all six blogs ~~~
See you next week friends!

Looking forward to next week. I like the use of a variety of containers with different flowers. This idea can be used all year.

Hi Ann ~ doing flowers this way can really stretch a small bunch of flowers for the table. I’m looking forward to recipes next week too! Bwg ~~~

Those Island Breezes look perfect right now. I will definitely make Island Breezes part of my summer next year. Who am I kidding, I’ll probably make one this weekend they look so good!
