Drink wine. Make something pretty. Art Blossoms. I am so on board with this!
Art Blossoms is a campaign by women, for women with the goal of encouraging art and sustainability to blossom all over the country. I’m excited to be part of a group of bloggers invited by Protea Wines USA to contribute to this campaign.
You know I love a good cocktail, or a good bottle of wine. Protea Wines sent me a bottle of red and a bottle of white, to enjoy with family or friends. Bluwaterguy and I enjoyed Happy Hour with wine and cheese, and talk about the weekend. That’s the “drink wine” part of the campaign. The cabernet-merlot blend was my favorite, and Bluwaterguy preferred the chenin blanc ~ which is a reversal for us as he’s usually the red drinker, while I go for more often for white. I know it’s hard work, but someone has to do it 🙂 .
Don’t you love these unusual bottles? I was struck with them as soon as I opened the box and knew they would be a fun upcycle project. The wine is from South Africa, and the protea is the national flower of South Africa. I’ve enjoyed proteas over the years, and knew they would be part of my “make something pretty” project. Here’s the finished project ~ candles, flowers and wine, always a good combination! Total serendipity that my draperies and the bottles have a similar pattern. I’ve always liked paisley ~~~
Some blog friends are also contributing art creations ~ Lisa at Concord Cottage and Coco at The Crowned Goat. Check out their upcycle art too! All the contributing blogs are on the Pinterest campaign board. Next we’re all sending our creations on to other women as the “Art Blossoms” part of the campaign. I love this concept!
It’s been fun being part of this campaign with Protea Wines USA. They supplied the wine, I supplied the craft and the sharing. Hope the recipient of my Art Blossoms efforts enjoys it too 🙂 .
Disclosure ~ Protea Wines USA supplied me with two bottles of wine for the Art Blossoms campaign. The wine drinking, art and opinions are strictly my own 🙂 .
