It’s officially summer with the solstice Saturday morning at 6:51 AM ET ~ though it’s been summer around here for weeks already ~ and let’s celebrate with ice cream!
Of course I want to celebrate everything with ice cream, any time, any season, but it’s especially good in summer ~ AND, we finally have our own Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams Scoop Shop in Atlanta. AND, Jeni came to town in her book tour for her second Splendid Ice Creams book. So of course this was a perfect opportunity for an ice cream outing 🙂
I went for two new Limited Edition Flavors in my scoop ~ Pineapple Upside Down Cake paired with Cantaloupe & Sun Tea Sorbet. OH MY! I could have eaten vats of these ~ DELICIOUS!
Good thing I was headed to Jeni’s book signing at William-Sonoma in a different part of town, or they may have found me still there at closing, asking for “just one more scoop, please, any flavor”.
Luckily, I got to the book signing at the right time and was able to spend a few minutes chatting with Jeni. She has done amazing things with her ice cream passion, her business and her brand. Doesn’t she look like someone who would be nice to know? And yes, she was that nice in person.
Her new book has more flavors and beautiful ideas for ice cream desserts. Cakes, bars and sundaes. I see an ice cream cake in my near future. I love my personalized copy and have my ice cream freezer ready to go! Now which recipe to make first ~~~
