Packing up & cleaning out my office stuff, hearing so many nice comments and good wishes from friends and colleagues, and endless last-minute to do’s! It was a 72 hour emotional roller coaster from Thursday ’til Saturday, and even though not unexpected, still not an easy few days. That’s why I drove back here to Seaside on Friday night; I needed some transition time.
I heard that it’s good luck to take a photo of the sunrise on your first morning after a big life event. So on Saturday morning I woke up early to see the sunrise. My family & friends know that I am NOT a morning person, so waking before the alarm was a good sign ~ of course being on central time vs eastern time didn’t hurt either. I thought I would hedge my bets for good luck and toast the sunrise with a Mimosa ~ cheers to my next chapters :-).
While the sun strengthened, I enjoyed the view, a Mimosa, a book and some music ~ my kind of morning! Finally tearing myself away from the view and on to a walkabout, lunch and some shopping ~ my kind of afternoon! And then one of the prettiest sunsets ever. It was so pretty I literally could not stop taking pictures of it. Definitely a couple of framers in the group, if I can just choose which ones.
Now it’s my first official not working Monday. A rainy day in a beach town still beats any day in an office! I’ll post more on this bluwatergetaway in a few days ~ right now I am still trying to catch my breath. Bluwaterguy surprised me with a brand new (retina display!) iPad mini and sent a text saying “walk the beach, take pictures, shop, blog, enjoy food, a cocktail, a Netflix movie, nap, and repeat as needed” ~ he’s a smart and thoughtful man :-).
I found these sea glass stones in a local shop, and thought they are a lovely way to carry my hopes for these next chapters in my bluwaterlife. I hope y’all enjoy coming along with me ~ it’s gonna be fun!

I have spent an enjoyable 30 minutes wandering in and out of the places you visited on your “get-a-way trip. You make the beach come alive in my mind. Hope you are still relaxing!
