It’s almost that time again. Labor Day is past, school is back in session and college football has kicked off. The clock is ticking down to the last days of summer…5 days and a bit, then it is truly autumn. Wednesday September 22 @ 11:09 PM will be the vernal equinox and it will be time to retire my summer silver for another year.
I think of all my summer pieces, this one may have the most memories. I love bracelets, especially charm bracelets. This one I collected over a period of a few years, and it is all vacation themed charms. My mom and I both have these cuff bracelets. We found a lot of these charms at some local shops and festivals, one Labor Day festival in particular. I love the way this one feels and sounds…like heavy fringe, with a jingle of far-off chimes.
When I go through the different charms, I think of the weekends browsing booths with my mom and my sister. I think of the vacations and trips this bracelet has been on, and the future trips yet to be. It’s the thoughts of future trips and family weekends that will get me through the next three months until the winter solstice. Well, that and the only redeeming feature of the fall season….college football!
So here’s to summer’s end, silver memories, and family time….at least until my next bluwater trip!
