I’ve got such a bluwaterstyle shopping treat for you today! I’m doing a lot of projects at home to freshen up after my floor reno, and a visit to Steve McKenzie’s here in Atlanta was a wonderful way to get creatively inspired and do some fun shopping! The shop is GORGEOUS and I wanted to share some photos with you here.
Steve and Jill McKenzie are gracious hosts and allowed me to shop and photograph to my heart’s content! There are so many things I want to share with you, so I am doing this in two parts ~ today is tabletop and furniture. Come back tomorrow as part of our Thursday Night Social to see more great ideas for gifting and entertaining! Many items are on stevemckenzies.com or if you want more information, call the shop directly at 404.618.0422 / 1.888.601.5360 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org and they will take care of you.
Steve McKenzie’s on Brady Ave. in West Atlanta’s design district is a beautiful space. Furniture, textiles, tabletop, decorative accessories, jewelry and more ~ several lines are theirs exclusively in the southeast.
This table just inside the door stopped me in my tracks ~ such vibrant colors! Mikado by Royal Crown Derby done in such a fresh and modern way.
Definitely in my color palette! And check out that rattan chair ~ read on for more details ~~~
Another beautiful range of colors in R.Wood Ceramics ~ entirely made and painted by hand in Athens Ga.
Any of these R.Wood pieces would brighten up your home.
That blue is just stunning don’t you think?
Here’s that great rattan chair again. It’s an R.Wengler design ~ an icon of Danish design and maker of innovative rattan furniture ~ and recently reintroduced by Sika-Design. Comfortable, sturdy and perfect bluwaterstyle whether dining seating or as a side chair.
These rattan rockers called my first, last and middle name. One of these rockers on a screened porch and I would be a happy Bluwatergal!
This painted sideboard ~ in one of my favorite colors ~ packs a lot of storage in a small footprint. It works behind a sofa or in an entryway as easily as in a dining room. The brass hardware and feet give it extra flair.
And now a truly special piece ~ hand-built from reclaimed 75-year-old pine by a local Atlanta furniture artisan ~ the finish on this table was really a work of art.
And I loved this painted cocktail table ~ with leather pull details!
It can be customized in different color combinations ~ and there is a side table / bar piece too.
Oh and you HAVE to meet two of the sweetest shop doggies ever ~ Duke and Biscotti ~ or #BisiAndDuke to their IG friends. Yes, they have their own hashtag. 🙂 It’s a hard life ~~~
They’re both English Springer Spaniels. Duke is the handsome brown fellow and Bisi is the chic black and white girl.
After exploring, shopping and photographing, I wanted to follow Duke & Bisi’s example and just hang out on this sofa for a bit to soak up the creative vibe ~ which I did ~ and then headed out for lunch and more exploring in West Atlanta!
Hope you’ve enjoyed this look around Steve McKenzie’s and some of their wonderful furniture and tabletop. Come back tomorrow for our Thursday Night Social, and I’ll share great entertaining and bluwatergifty ideas from Steve McKenzie’s. In the meantime, if you see anything you know you MUST have ~ ring Jill and she will take care of you! 404.618.0422 / 1.888.601.5360
