After our Margaritaville tiki bar tailgate, I had several requests for the fruit fluff dip we had as part of our dessert. The recipe comes from Porch Parties by Denise Gee. It is a charming book, with wonderful photographs of porches and verandas. I’ve tried several of the recipes and enjoyed them all. This one for a sweet creamy dip is fabulous with fruit, and also can make a mean sandwich cookie!
Here’s a photo of how I used the dip and fruit for a small plate at a different event. Nice when something works in the back of a truck for a tailgate event, and also for ladies who lunch. That’s one of my requirements for things I like; they need to work in lots of different settings!
Would you like a cold drink or bite to eat while you enjoy that chair under the ceiling fan and admire the view? No problem ~ my porch is your porch. Enjoy!
Creamy Orange Fruit Dip
1 eight oz pkg cream cheese, softened
(or 1 three oz pkg cream cheese, softened – see RECOMMENDATION)
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup orange marmalade
1 cup whipped cream
Combine the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla with an electric mixer at medium speed. Add the marmalade and whipped cream and fold gently by hand to combine until blended. Refrigerate until chilled. Serve with assorted fresh fruit pieces.
RECOMMENDATION ~ This recipe makes a lot, which is great for a party. For smaller needs, I use a 3 oz pkg of cream cheese and adjust all other ingredients accordingly. This makes just the right amount for a few people to share, or dessert for a small dinner group.
